In the Hot Spot is What?

I was just rereading an article I wrote called How to Move Overseas or Emigrate to Australia, Costa Rica, or New Zealand.

Modesty aside(!), it is a great little post, but there’s one glaring problem with it: the stuff I write about in the article has nothing to do with the title at all. Ooops. In fact, the post is about how I overcame my fears, set myself challenges, motivated myself to achieve my goals and dreams, and how I’d like to help other people do that too. I even pinpoint the main aim of my writing this blog:

To inspire other people to follow their dream of traveling by following my own dream to write.

Writing an article with an irrelevant title is not good, but writing an entire blog which is off topic is worse! In fact, it could explain why these are a few search terms that real people have typed in to google and found my blog from:

  • kangaroos are cute but tasty
  • wet hot ticas
  • cull kangaroos

Strange but true!

Sorry folks, but I don’t want people to visit my site if they’re interested in killing kangaroos or leering at Ticas (Costa Rican ladies). I want good people to visit this site, salt of the earth types, normal people who have a dream and want a little kick up the bum to help them nail it.

How I chose the name In the Hot Spot

Three years ago, when I started this blog, I already knew what the purpose of it was and I chose a name to fit. For me, In the Hot Spot means putting your neck on the line, daring to say what you want and then, because you’re ‘in the hot spot’ and have announced it to the world, having the motivation, internal and external, to follow through with it. If you’re in the hot spot, then you’re under pressure to succeed and that’s good. I need pressure, goals, deadlines, I thrive on them. Maybe you do to.

My other dream, apart from writing full time, is to live somewhere hot, so there’s a double meaning to in the hot spot which I think will appeal to people who share that dream of living in a tropical (or sub-tropical) place.

So, people, do you have a dream? Do you want inspiration and tips to help you achieve it? Do you want to be surrounded by positive people who encourage you to make the best of yourself? Good! Then you have come to the right place.

Those of you just looking for a bit of kangaroo culling or a cheap thrill please shove off… unless that is truly your dream of course.
