Wild Movie Tickets and Book Giveaway!

Wild Movie Tickets and Book Giveaway!

Have you ever just wanted to pack your bag, lace up your boots and walk off into the unknown? That’s what Cheryl Strayed did and wrote about in her travel memoir Wild. Based on a true story and the #1 New York Times best-seller, Wild tells the story of how Cheryl decided to embark on a thousand mile wilderness hike after years of reckless behavior and the destruction of her marriage.

Haunted by memories of her mother and with absolutely no hiking experience, she sets out to hike more than a thousand miles along the Pacific Crest Trail solo. The book reveals her challenges (bears!) and her triumphs (she makes it!) as she forges ahead on a journey that tests, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.

I’d take Teen15 who needs more adventure in his life and loves the wild. Actually so do I but there will be no long solo hikes for this mamam for quite a few years. I’ve been reading about this film and it sounds great.

I’d love to take my partner, with whom I’ll be doing the Camino Frances trek later this year. When I first mentioned it to him, his reaction was unprintable, but he has slowly come round. I think watching this movie will give him a new perspective. After all, Cheryl Strayed walked 1000 miles – we only have to do 795 kilometres – a mere walk in the park!

I would take my WILD at heart girlfriend Kaz because when I’m with her our hearts connect and we feel wild and free!

I would take my friend KM because she is a fierce mama bear who is not to be messed with :)

My husband! He read the book a few months ago and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. Unfortunately we don’t get to the movies much but would definitely like to see this one.

My husband Paul as I am hoping he will be inspired by this story. I walked the Camino de Santiago (800km) on my own late last year and I would love him to accompany me on my next adventure.

Im really looking forward to seeing this movie. Ive walked 800km (500miles) no where near 1000miles that i think she did and im hungry to get back out there. the first walk wasnt life changing for me id like the second walk to be. Im needing inspiration as to where to walk and this time id like to write about my experience its time to inspire as many people as I can. all it takes is taking the first step, its finiding the courage to lift your feet and to keep going.

I’d take BECKY, my American friend!
She loves Australia but she’s also always happy to see spruce trees and American wildlife!

I would like to take you Annabel Candy!…you are such an interesting, dynamic woman and I’ve always wanted to become friends and share stories. We live in the same town, but I’m lucky if I bump into you once a year. Shall we catch a movie? I would love to go and see WILD. (read a good review in “GET in the HOT Spot”!)

I’d take my teenage daughter who has just returned from an extended exchange overseas. I think this movie would be a great starting point for her to open up about her own experiences of loneliness, family and belonging.

My husband is a keen hiker, and always trying to get me to go on these long hikes with him. This movie could (a) inspire me to actually agree to more hiking (b) put him off his desire to go overseas and do a similar long hike (c) encourage him further in his quest to get me hiking more (d) all of the above.

I am going to take a bit of an eccentric and free girlfriend so we could let the energy of this story course our veins. Then into the wild we would go us two little elemental energies who love the forests and the green. Woo Hoo !

I would take my boyfriend – Matt, he’s been in charge of the movie picking at the cinema recently and it’s been The Hobbit, The Hunger Games and Interstellar on our last 3 visits. Basically very loud, noisy films ! I’m in desperate need of a quieter drama focused film with heart and emotion and most importantly a strong lead female character.

Robert Watson ! We’re heading off to Tasmania to do the Overland Track in March and he’s convinced it’s completely beyond his capabilities, I reckon seeing the true story of Reese Witherspoon’s character tackle the daunting Pacific Crest Trail solo and with no prior experience will put our planned expedition in perspective and provide him with the necessary enthusiasm to get out and do a bit of training in February too !

My mum, she always bemoans the lack of quality dramas in the cinema these days complaining that it’s always sequels, remakes and reboots at her local multiplex so I know she’d really appreciate this film plus she instilled in me a love of the great outdoors that I’ve kept since a child, taking every opportunity to head out bushwalking or camping on weekends so I can’t think of a more appropriate movie for the two of us to enjoy together.
