Capture the Colours – Travel Photos from Japan

Travel photos Japan

Red and yellow and green and blue, purple and orange and pink….

Sounds familiar? Well fortunately I can’t sing you a rainbow but I can show you one with some of my travel photos.

I have so many wonderful travel photos but also get frustrated because I have so few of the trips I took in the pre-digital camera days.

Still, I decided to run with a theme for this one and showcase some of the photos I took from Japan.

It got a bit challenging as it was mid-winter while I was in Japan and there wasn’t a lot of blue sky to be seen. But I was spoilt for choice when it comes to red which the Japanese believe to be a lucky color.

I love red too hence my red hot spot logo so that’s a good place for us to start.

These lucky red Buddhas shot outside a temple will bring good luck and help make your wishes come true. I love their snowy caps.

Blue Travel Photo from Japan

Cool blue skies snapped from the bullet train on the way to Kyoto.

Yellow Travel Photo from Japan

The food was sublime in Japan, the presentation exquisite. I love this shiny, sunny dish.

White Travel Photo from Japan

Traditional gassho-zukuri-style thatched roof tops peeping out of the snow in the Gokayama villages in the Hokuriku region of Japan which is famed for its heavy snowfall.

Green Travel Photo from Japan

I normally prefer the natural look but this young lady looks exquisite and the green kimono is as mesmerising and beautiful as her face.

Lots of happy and very colorful memories there but the red and green photos are definitely my favourite – and my favourite colors too.

Here’s to many more travel adventures and happy snapping in the years to come for all of us.

What’s your favourite color? Or colorful travel memory?

Loved the idea of displaying the photos as a theme and Japan makes an excellent showcase of colour. I was intrigued by all the images, but if I had to choose, then I’d go for the Red and Green – wonderful pics :)

I love ‘White’ the most! Loved your photos, and I think I really must visit Kyoto some time soon. As far as colourful travel memories go, I remember this one time at night along an old street at Osaka, just off the serviced apartments where I stayed at Frasers Residence Osaka. So much colour and life. Japan is such an amazing place!
