Making Grand Plans for 2015!

Grand plans for 2015

I’m following Chris Guillebeau‘s lead and by writing a review of last year and a plan for the year head. My plans are ambitious (hence the Grand Plans headline!) but better to shoot for the stars than limit yourself.

Want to make some grand plans of your own? No matter how modest they may seem any plan you make is still grand if you write it down and tell someone (or post it on social media or your blog) because you’re publically stating your intention which takes great courage.

If you’d like to do get things done in 2015 leave a comment telling us your grand (or not so grand) plans. Or create a more detailed plan for yourself using some or all of these categories:

Writing, Business, Friends & Family, Service, Travel, Spiritual, Health, Learning and Financial (Earning, Giving and Saving).

I’ve added some time projections for how long I need to spend on some things. For example 15 mins/day meditation and 30 mins/day creative writing. Obviously I’ll aim to meditate daily but I can be more free and easy with other projects and set aside longer chunks of time as that may work better.

Travel

March – Revisit Rumba Resort for a family weekend

June/July – Visit my mum in England for her 80th birthday and catch up with other family and old friends. Take Max (13) and Kiara (10) and visit Paris for three nights.

Go on a hiking trip – Realistically to Mount Barney and/or Lord Howe Island but if I dream big to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

December – Organise family holiday for two weeks to New Zealand or other fun family destination.

Spiritual

Meditate for 15mins/day.

Limit Facebook, social media & Internet use to make more time for friends and family.

Facebook once a week at weekend – 60 mins.

Reading blogs – 2 hours at weekend – or Fri arvo and do a hangout/tweet up weekly on Fri arvo.

Get out and enjoy nature daily.

Health

Exercise daily at 6am. Continue healthy eating (with chocolate or amazeballs for treats!), go for a relaxing beach walk/swim with family in the late afternoon.

Go on hikes with local Meet Up hiking group or women’s adventure group – fills friends and spirituality too because nature is one of my core values.

Friends & Family

Get together with a friend once a week

Have coffee with new Noosaville Business Association friends once a fortnight.

Be fully present with family during family time.

Learning

Keep striving to live consciously and be mindful. Increase self-rated conscious living score from 2/10 to 5/10.

Keep learning about myself and going to therapy weekly to support my personal growth. I started therapy in 2013 and wish I’d done it 30 years ago!

Keep reading widely about business, personal development, health and mindfulness.

Financial Earning

Increase business income and in particular recurring income from services like Reputation Marketing.

Financial Giving

Support Sunwell, Fressey and their five children in Zimbabwe. See story about how I taught Sunwell in 1991 when he was 13 years old and photos of him and his beautiful family here.

Support World Vision through my blog

Financial Saving

Impossible this year! Focus on conserving existing savings and earning more so we can save next year. Or more likely when the Candy kids are independent.

Those are grand plans, Annabel! I hope they all come to fruition exactly as you wish. What’s “arvo” by the way?

I did make a business plan for 2015. A bit more modest than yours, mostly due to the fact that I work part time outside of my biz. But, I’m reflecting on your advice to shoot for the starts.

    Happy New Year!

      Hi Sandra,

Arvo is afternoon – we shorten everything here in Australia! All plans are good :)

Annabel, it is great to see such a detailed set of plans and goals, and I wish you all the best to achieving them and more in 2015!

No grand plans here… it’s do less and declutter whole bloody life!! Keeping my head very low… and so enjoying being mainly tech free here at Jervis Bay although this wee cafe with wifi is a delight to visit occasionally.

Teenagers mainly contrite but have had a couple of tantrums. Bloody hard going emotionally and hard to know how to deal with it.

So many be 2015 should be – get more help ASAP and just aim for as much smooth sailing as if humanely possible. Should post!

      Hi Seana,

Doing less sounds essential in those circumstances! Fingers crossed for smoother sailing from now on :)

I SO need to do this. I like how you break out your travel by month, and also that you have a charitable goal. It would be interesting for you to go back over this at the end of 2015 and see what insights you have!

I’m exhausted reading your plans! Mine aren’t nearly as grand, but I’m determined. Writing and creating art are at the top of my list. I honestly can’t get much more detailed than that, I’m afraid.
    Best of luck to YOU!!

      Hi Barbara,

That’s a great start. Love if you could set a clearer goal though – like write 500 words a day or complete an art work every week. I know you can ;)

    hi Annabel,
I love your grand plans. Better to aim higher then low. Just had a thought….For the Walk that you like to do. Have you heard of the Camino walk to Santiago di compostella in Spain? Just read another book about it, “walking home ” by Sonia Choquette. Great book! Heaps of info on internet about Camino too. Kieron is doing a similar one in Italy (after we travel first bit together there) in August, from Assisi to Rome. Would love to join him but can’t this time.
Best wishes to you and your family, jamila

So impressed with your grand plans. Would love more posts like this and how you achieve them. Do you set an alarm, or do you have a big flow chart on the wall. I write things down and then lose the notepad, or start on another pad with better ideas but never stick to them as life always gets in the way. Totally useless. But hugely impressed with you :)
