Entrepreneur’s Secret Weapon 1

Editor’s note: Guest illustration by Stuart Ritchie from onefte.com. Stuart is the creator of the 1.00 FTE corporate webcomic.

I was going to write a post called Entrepreneur’s Secret Weapon with an illustration by Stuart but his idea said so much and made me laugh too so I’m clearing the floor.

Not only does your brain not need a budget, no one can steal it either. In the right circumstances, with the right input your brain can be a never-ending source of ideas, enthusiasm, motivation and inspiration. Not to mention new innovations, products or services for your business.

Stay tuned for a post by me called Entrepreneur’s Secret Weapon 2. With a brain and the other secret weapon number 2 that I’ll be revealing soon, you’ll be unstoppable.

Email Updates

I’m updating my blog twice a week now with tips on the two topics of self improvemement and Internet marketing. I’ve decided to send two emails per week on Tuesdays and Fridays as I think it’s the best way to make sure email subscribers don’t miss out on a post because it’s tucked away at the bottom of a long email.

I hope this will improve  your experience with Get In the Hot Spot and make it easier  for you to stay motivated and on track with your goals. I don’t plan on posting more often than twice a week so that will be the regular routine

If you like the sound of free bi-weekly emails from Get In the Hot Spot just tell me your email adress here. Your details will be kept totally private and there’s a link at the bottom of every email so you can easily unsubscribe at any time with no hard feelings.

Get In the Hot Spot Branding and Redesign News

The design of my blog was thrown together in half an hour so a proper design is long overdue. The first mockups have been done and we’re working on tightening them up and making sure the site looks postive and inspiring but also clean and interesting. I’m very excited about the design we’ve come up with and can’t wait to share it with you.

I’m looking at this redesign as the official launch of Get In the Hot Spot and can’t wait to share the new logo, slogan and website with you when the redesign goes live. There are going to be some big changes and I’m excited that you’ll be a part of it. I’m not sure when it will happen but it should be around the end of May. I might even have a launch party and you’ll all be invited.

I can’t share the visuals with you yet but I can say what the new slogan is. It’s more concrete than Live your Dream and will give new readers an idea of what to expect as soon as they see the new logo and site. I think it sums up some of the positivity, inspiration and can do attitude we’re encouraging here.

What I write will stay the same. I’ll still be concentrating 100% on helping you work towards your dream life and sharing tips on how you can get there. The focus and tone of the posts won’t change at all, just the look of the website and the slogan which will be: Empowering tips for life and work

What do you think?

I like that a lot, and it’s so true.

I’m a fan of thinking the thoughts that serve you.

    J. D. – Yes, it’s good to have a brain isn’t it? And I think I’m getting better at learning how to conrol it and make it work better for me too:)

    Sweet Annabel,
I think once you have your new design you are going to massively overtake me with new readers:)
    I can’t wait to see!

I look forward to seeing the new brand and website redesign!

It’s a great pleasure watching how this is all growing and unfolding.

Wow, Annabel, this illustration is awesome, and very inspiring, too! It’s already bookmarked.

I can’t wait to see your redesign. The slogan is also great. Love your blog! :)

    Hi Annabel,

Loved the cartoon! To me, it spoke volumes about how many of us have been convinced (brainwashed?) that in order to do anything we must spend mega-bucks on “experts” or resources to achieve our goals. Not so!

I’m glad to see you have decided to go for it and post twice a week with the two themes of the self development and internet marketing. Good for you. I think the new tagline is great. Blogs like yours have really helped to inspire me to move forward with my dream.

    Keep writing your great posts.

    Cheers,
    Sue

I so much look forward to seeing the new design! The new slogan definitely speaks to a larger audience. Wishing you well with the new transition.

I loved the little song you left on my blog. Thanks for the encouragement!

Ovidiu – It’s lovely to see you pop up here and leave a comment. Thanks for watching, I hope you like what you see:)

Margarita – I love the illustration too. Stuart even feminised it for us so we can all see that chicks are fierce competition for the big boys too.

Teresa – It made me smirk too.

Sue – You raised a good point. I think we are trained to believe one small person can’t really do much good in the world and powerful to realise that actually we can. Thanks for the feedback on the slogan too. Glad you like it and can’t wait to unveil the new design.

Sandra – I really appreciate your regular comments and just wanted to acknowledge that by leaving a comment for you too:) Reading the comments on my blog has helped me persevere with it when giving up would have been easier and taught me heaps because my readers definitely add to the conversation, making it richer, more interesting and more useful. I’m very keen to promote a team spirit here and let people enjoy the benefits of being part of a positive and motivated group of people so many thanks for your role in Team Hot Spot:)

From little acorns, tall oaks grow… I know, not original, but it covers both the girl in the garage and how strongly your ideas are flourishing. Looking forward to the new site design.

Hi, I found your site through Sandra’s site. I’m looking forward to getting your newsletter. A friend of mine started WellBook.org a few months ago, and while it’s interesting and rewarding to implement one’s own concept, it’s also challenging to promote it! I hope I’ll get some good ideas from you!

Cate – Beautiful, thanks! Something is definitely blooming:)

Vladimir – Welcome and thanks for subscribing and commenting already. I hope I can help you. I’ll be doing my best!

Feeling ’empowered’ here already, just by reading your new slogan !!

It has been good to watch your metamorphosis. Not sure I’ll be able to keep up reading and commenting at your two posts per week pace. But then again, I don’t always need to read the entire newspaper to receive benefit.

Happy to remain an empowered blogger, and reader of Get in the Hot Spot

I’m so proud that you have done so well and know your blog is getting ready to grow expenentially!

You are always so helpful and kind. I’m sure that is your the real key to success.

I have learned a lot from you.

A quick note to say thanks to Annabel for working with me to get this comic together. I’m hoping we get to do this again soon. If you get a chance to work with Annabel you should jump at it. She’s great fun and you’ll learn a thing or two.

On topic, I’ve been involved in large corporates my entire working life and they (despite the jawdropping amount they spend on R&D) aren’t the hotbeds of innovation you might think they are.

If I’ve learnt anything at all, it’s that large corporations are just a bunch of people … and so are we. :)

Oh, and thanks to those who commented positively about the comic. It’s appreciated.

QwkDwr – Hopefully even if you don’t have time to read or comment on everything you can still pick and choose the articles that will help or interest you most. I treasure comments from readers and really appreciate your taking the time to respond to something you read here. I understand you can’t comment everytime but want you to know how much I love it when you do. It’s wonderful to hear from new readers for the first time and loyal readers who’ve been part of Get In the Hot Spot for months or even years:)

Randall – Thank you! I try:) It makes me happy to hear I’ve helped other people and determined to stick with it.

Stuart – Thank you for sharing it with us. I think we made a good team:)

How to do things can be taught,
And I do really think that they ought.
    But real innovation
    Requires inspiration:
A gift that just cannot be bought!
