My 7 Links Post for Tripbase

7 Blog Post Links

Tripbase is running a My 7 Links project to unite bloggers in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts thatdeserve to see the light of day again. Sounds good doesn’t it? Linda at Journey Jottings nominated Get In the Hot Spot so here goes.

Most beautiful post

101 Reasons to Feel Happy is beautiful because it was the first time I tried a numbered list post. I chose to write about happiness and share a simple, effective way to boost your happiness on a daily basis and seek happiness in everywhere you go. I love the photo of the smiley ni-Vanutuan man – Vanuatu is one of the  happiest countries in the world and I was lucky to get married there.

Most popular post

How to Fly Anywhere, Anytime FREE – Guaranteed went nuts on StumbledUpon and has had an incredible 44,144 views. It’s about Chris Guillebeau’s Travel Hacking Cartel.

Most controversial post

I shy away from controversy but can’t tolerate racism so I wrote about Racism in Australia.

Most helpful post

It’s hard to choose for this category because most of my posts aim to be helpful about travel, writing or success but I love 5 Instructions For Better Writing and Living because it based on the brilliant writing book Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott which every writer should read. I love the opening quote by her too.

Post whose success most surprised you

35 Ways I Don’t Fit In went down well because it turned out a lot of other people feel like they don’t fit in too.

Post that didn’t get the attention it deserved

The Western Blogger and the Eastern Blogger confronts global issues and cultural barriers with a real life blogging story.

Post that I’m most proud of

I’m proud of Live Your Dream in a Material World because it has a simple story and message which I hope inspires people to live their dream too. I’m also proud of it because it was the first post of mine Leo Babauta tweeted and I was so proud to think he’d not only read it but liked enough to tweet about.

5 Hot Travel Blogs and Bloggers

As part of the project I have to nominate five other bloggers who might like to take part. They are can choose to accept the challenge or not but I’d love to see the seven links from

Once you’ve been blogging for a few years you always have a wealth of blog posts that don’t get read as much as others and these are some of mine. I’d like to create a list of my funniest blogs posts and share those too next time we need a laugh.

Enjoy the links and I’ll see you again next time with more hot travel tips and stories.

Oh, thanx so much for nominating me, Annabel! I’m honoured!! But tragically, Jim at Holes in my Soles has beaten you to the punch … my version of My 7 Links post was published a few days ago!

This IS a great way to review your own posts – I was surprised at how my style has developed – but more importantly, an even greater way to find some new reads!! The hashtag #My7Links will unearth even more on Twitter …

Thanx again, I SO appreciate you thinking of me!!

    Annabel,

Thanks for asking me to join. I shall. Working on it now. Not sure if I’ll post this one on Thursday or next Monday. Miss Footloose asked me too. Is that OK to have two people at the same time?

    • Annabel Candy July 20, 2011 at 9:51 pm - Reply

Hi Gutsy, now worries, hope you have fun with it. I’m sure it’s okay for two nominations. Popular lady:)

Thanks for this list, good reading here. The combination of good living and good working is balanced so well. I almost fell over when I saw the number of reads the flights post got. Wow!! Inspired me to get a grip and find out about StumbleUpon properly!
